At Kool-Aid Lake, my team set up tents and prepared dinner. In an attempt to establish contact with the others, we yelled periodically, trying not to confuse them with echoes. Finally, we heard them yelling back and guided them in to camp. As the sun set, the clouds began to clear and I was able to get a nice picture across the still half-frozen lake to its outlet, with Mixup Peak and Johannesburg Mountain in the background.
